About Us
Established in 2009 by Kyoshi Brett Harrison and Shihan Ant’z Veen, Zanshin Freestyle Karate (ZFK) has served the local South Adelaide and Hills community, training 100’s of students from as young as 5yrs old, right up to those in their twilight years.
Our system is more than just techniques and skills. We pride ourselves on being family friendly and providing a culture, syllabus and environment that caters for all students allowing them to reach their full potential in broad aspects of their personal development.
Get fit & gain confidence
The Zanshin Freestyle Karate (ZFK) syllabus has been carefully structured to offer basic skills as a foundation, before training in a variety of different styles and areas of the Martial Arts. Although we still incorporate traditional forms we aren’t bound by them and have experienced instructors and students from numerous styles, incorporating Doce Pares, Brazilian Jujitsu (BJJ), Tae Kwon Do, Boxing, Kung Fu and Tang Soo Do among others.
Supportive Community
Through our comprehensive syllabus and programs students are taught empty hand techniques, locks and holds, weapons, Kata, general health and fitness, safety & awareness, discipline and more. Students will be challenged both physically and mentally to reach their full potential in their training, whilst being supported by our instructors in every way.
Qualified Instructors
All our instructors are Accredited with MAIA (Martial Arts Industry Australia) and we are also members and insured with MAIA. All instructors have current COVID-19 training, Police & Working with Children Clearances and we are governed by numerous policies, Code of Conduct & Child Safety statements to ensure your training experience is as safe and comprehensive as possible.
